Biography

Dr. Benjamin Legendre is currently working as Research Associate in Louisiana State University in Audubon Sugar Institute. He pursued Ph.D. Plant Breeding (1970), Louisiana State University, M.S. Plant Breeding (1967), Louisiana State University, B.S. Agronomy (1965), Louisiana State University. His research interests are Sugarcane, Agronomist.

Research Intrest

The incumbent has 47 years of research and Extension experience in state and federal organizations in the genetic improvement of sugarcane, selection of improved sugarcane cultivars, and cane and juice quality and served as Research Leader for the USDA-ARS, Sugarcane Research Unit, Southern Regional Research Center, Houma, LA for 11 years prior to his accepting a position as Sugarcane Specialist with the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center (LSUAC), Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service in 2000.
