Biography

Bahar Rezaei is a researcher at Utrecht University School of Economics (USE), where she also finished her PhD dissertation "Essays in Information Economics". She is interested in solving problems related to industrial organization and operations research using insights from game theory, mechanism design, behavioral economics, and network economics. Her current research employs concepts of infinitely repeated games with asymmetric information to analyze group lending under joint liability for borrowers who are connected through a social network. Before moving to Utrecht, Bahar was a PhD student in Computer Science at Ruhr University Bochum for a year, where she learned about algorithmic mechanism design and developed an interest in game theory. She had previously worked as researcher in computer science related projects and as junior lecturer of mathematics and statistics. Bahar received her M.Sc. degree in applied mathematics from Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran.
