Ann Hagan, Ph.D., is the associate director for extramural activities. She is responsible for coordinating and overseeing NIGMS grant policy and procedure development. Before joining the Institute, Hagan served as chief of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases’ Review Branch. She earned a B.S. in biology education and a Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Hagan conducted postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Mental Health.
