Biography

Graduated in Pharmacy (2004) with emphasis in Clinical Analysis (2006) by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Master (2006) and Doctorate (2009) in Biological Sciences: Biochemistry by the same University. He completed his Post-Doctorate in the Pharmacy Sciences Graduate Program of the Faculty of Pharmacy / UFRGS (2009-2012) under the supervision of Profa. Dr. Sílvia Stanisçuaski Guterres. She is currently an Adjunct Researcher (Profile: Nanotechnologies Applied to the Biomedical Area) of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC) at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ). She is permanent advisor in the Post-Graduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology of FIOCRUZ (PPGBCM). He has experience in the areas of Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Nanotechnology, with emphasis on the study of new drugs with potential antitumor and neuroprotective effect. Its current research projects have as main objective the use of nanotechnology as a tool for the vectorization of drugs. The main topics covered in scientific research work include: biological evaluation of nanostructured systems for drug vectorization, mechanisms and cell signaling pathways involved in the proliferation and invasion of gliomas, Alzheimer's disease, cerebral ischemia, neuroprotection and inflammation.
