Biography

I have a degree in Biological Sciences (bachelor's degree in Genetics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1990), a master's degree in Biophysics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1995) and a PhD in Biophysics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2000) . I also have postdoctoral degrees in stem cell biology from Children's Hospital in Washington DC. I am currently Researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Oswaldo Cruz Institute and I have experience in the field of cell biology, with emphasis on Immunology, working mainly on the following topics: Trypanosoma cruzi infection, flow cytometry, inflammation, myocarditis and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
