He graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology of the University of Zagreb in 1986. As one of PLIVA's scholarship holders, he joined PLIVA a year later as a technologist in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and soon advanced to the position of Vitamin C Production Plant Manager.
