Biography

Dr. Gu was trained as an immunologist, cell biologist, physiologist & pharmacologist. He received his M.D. degree in Clinical Medicine at Fudan University Medical School (Shanghai, China) in 2002, and then his Ph.D. degree in Molecular Pharmacology, Physiology & Biotechnology at Brown University (Providence, RI, USA) in 2007. Subsequently, Dr. Gu completed his 5-year postdoctoral fellow training in The Laboratory of Dr. Michael B. Brenner (USA-NAS member) at Harvard Medical School – Brigham & Women's Hospital (Boston, MA, USA) in immunology. Prior to joining HKBU, Dr. Gu was a research faculty at Harvard Medical School – Brigham & Women's Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Johns Hopkins University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and then a senior staff scientist at Pfizer Inc. and Harvard Medical School – Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His work has been published on Nature Genetics, Cell Reports, Journal of Cell Biology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, and Immunological Reviews, etc.
