Biography

Dr. Xuming Zhang is currently an Associate Professor with Department of Applied Physics, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received BEng degree in Precision Mechanical Engineering in 1994 from the University of Science & Technology of China, and MEng degree in Optical Instrumentation in 1997 from Shanghai Institute of Optics & Fine Mechanics, the Chinese Academia of Science. His Ph.D. degree was awarded by School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University in 2006. He has published more than 80 journal articles in peer-reviewed journals like Nature Communications, Reports on Progress in Physics, IEEE Journal of Selected Topics on Quantum Electronics, Lab on a Chip, Advanced Materials, Optics Letters. His research work has been extensively reported and highlighted by international media and professional journals. His research interests include microfluidics, plasmonics and artificial photosynthesis.
