Biography

Dr. Zhang graduated from China University of Science and Technology in 2004 with a Ph.D. in Biology. 2004 ~ 2008, Harvard Medical School in the United States engaged in postdoctoral research; 2008 ~ 2013 in Hong Kong University as an assistant professor of research; 2013 joined the Southern University of Science and Technology Department of Biology. Dr. Zhang Hongmin engaged in structural biology research, the main study of cell signaling process of protein interactions between the pathogenic microbial pathogenesis and structure-based drug design, published a total of more than 20 high-level research papers.

Research Intrest

Dr. Zhang Hongmin's laboratory mainly uses X-ray crystallography to carry out structural biology research. The basic flow of this study is shown in the following figure, including the expression and purification of the target protein, the screening and optimization of protein crystals, the collection of X-ray diffraction data, the phase angle measurement, the model construction, and the structural modification and analysis. Structural biology research to lay a solid foundation for explaining life phenomena, functional predictions and drug development.
