Biography

After having been working for 16 years as an Anesthesiologist and in Intensive Care and Burns Units, I left in 2011, this stressful environment and decided to retire. However, it was difficult for me to stay inactive. One year later, I got a Diploma in Addiction Medicine. Rich with my expertise in health, patient-centered services, leadership and management of medical units, and as I have always been passionated by humanitarian actions, I founded in 2013, with a group of professionals, LAMSA, an NGO, whose mission is awareness and treatment of addiction and co-occuring mental and physical health diseases, in particular for the most common substance abuse among youth, tobacco, cannabis, alcohol abuse. So, along with my private medical practice at Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur as Smoking Cessation MD, I deliver, as a part of LAMSA's activities, substance abuse/addiction counseling to parents and youth struggled with drugs, as well as I work on promoting health. In January 2015, and in partnership with JRS Lebanon (Jesuit Refugee Services), we established at Burj-Hammoud a primary health clinic, where we are delivering mental and physical medical services to the syrian refugees. We are now looking for funds to reach all the community.
