Biography

Yvonne Jooste holds the degrees LLB (UP) LLM (UP) LLD (UP). Yvonne worked as lecturer at the Department of Public, Stellenbosch University from 2012 to 2015 and was appointed as a senior lecturer at the Department of Jurisprudence, University of Pretoria in 2016. She teaches Jurisprudence 110 and Jurisprudence 420 at undergraduate level. She is also involved in the course ‘The history and philosophy of human rights’ as part of the LLM in Law and Political Justice that is offered in collaboration with Birkbeck Law School, University of London convened by the head of the Department of Jurisprudence.

Research Intrest

Her main areas of interest are post-apartheid jurisprudence, gender and the law, the law and politics, law and aesthetics, critical legal theory, post-colonial theory and issues concerning political voicing, equality, narrative and speech.
