Dr. Wan was trained as a mechanical engineer (BSc degree in Mech. Eng., HKU, 81). His working experience in the Production Control and Planning Department of a shipyard shifted his interest to Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (MS in Ind. Eng., Texas A & M University, 86; PhD degree in Queueing, University of California at Berkeley 91). After his PhD study, he served for two years in the Manufacturing Engineering Department, City Polytechnic of Hong Kong; ten and a half years in the Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management Department, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He joined the Graduate Institute of Global Strategy Operations and Logistics Management in August, 2004.
Applied stochastic processes, queueing theory, simulation, stochastic modelling and scheduling, and transportation logistics.
