His research interesting mainly focus on the bioactive metabolites derived from marine organisms (sponges and corals), marine mangrove plants and their associated microorganisms. The research work included the isolation, structure elucidation of novel natural products, bioassay of the obtained compounds, and structural modification of bioactive products for further new drug development, and the inter-reaction of drugs and target proteins.
