Wendy has extensive teaching experience in a range of educational roles. She has been a pre-school teacher, a primary school teacher, Head Teacher of a secondary school and of a primary school, as well as a Deputy Principal. Her experience includes teaching in both private and state schools in South Africa, Botswana and New Zealand. Academically, she has a Bachelor of Primary Education and an Honours degree in history and is presently completing her post-grad diploma in Theology. In South Africa, she studied through UNISA but she has been a resident of New Zealand for over 16 years. She currently lectures in the areas of English, Social Sciences, Inclusive Pedagogies and the Visual Arts.
Her research interests are focussed on issues relating to Reconciliation and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
