Prior to arriving at AUN, he taught at Franklin College Switzerland in Lugano, Switzerland and at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. He has served as a consultant at the World Bank as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American NGO Partners for Development.
