Biography

Dr. Kam-Ming Wan has served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the School of Accounting and Finance, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 2012. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Texas at Dallas and a visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. from UCLA and his undergraduate and master degrees from the University of Hong Kong. His research interests include corporate governance, executive compensation, market microstructure, and financial regulation. He has published scholarly articles in the leading finance journals including Journal of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Critical Finance Review. He has received multiple research grants including a competitive peer-reviewed RGC General Research Grant. His research has policy implications and has been cited in local and international media outlets. Dr. Wan has taught a rich variety of courses to students at various levels. He is the recipient of the Faculty Award for Excellent Performance/Achievement in Teaching (Team) at PolyU in 2016 and two time nominee for the Faculty’s Outstanding Teacher Award at HKU.
