Biography

Vânia Olivetti Steffen Abdallah holds a medical degree from the Federal University of Uberlândia (1977), a Master's degree in Medicine Medicine, a Pediatrics degree from the Medical School of Ribeirão Preto at the University of São Paulo (1989) and a PhD in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto of the University of São Paulo (1993). She is currently Full Professor of the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Uberlândia. Has experience in Pediatrics, with emphasis on Neonatology, working mainly on the following topics: breastfeeding, human milk, neonatal epidemiology and perinatology. Since 2006 she has been an International Breastfeeding Consultant (IBCLC).
