Dr. Vidya Patni Ramani has received her PhD. Currently, she is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Botany, University of Rajasthan . Her research has included Advanced biochemical studies on galls of Prosopis cineraria (Linn.) Druce 1990-1992, Studies on wilt and blight disease of Cumin with special reference to Disease management 2001-2005 and Biotechnology for enhancement of active compounds and conservation of threatened medicinal herbs of Rajasthan used in Bone healing Cissus quadrangularis and Pluchea lanceolata 2009-2011. she have authored a chapters in book titled Insect induced galls of certain economically important plants of arid and semi-arid regions. Dynamics of Insect-plant interaction. 1988:165-176. On the biology of the galls of the kalpvraksh. Prosopis cineraria, Expanding Horizons in Botanical Research. 1989;4:20-26. She has been awarded Awarded gold medal for first position in the University in M.Sc. in 1984. Awarded UGC JRF - qualified National Educational Test (NET) conducted by UGC in September, 1985. Received Young Scientist Award (Merit Certificate) in the XIth All India Botanical Conference, held at Tiruchirapalli (Jan. 2-4, 1989) for the best paper presented in the Tissue Culture and Morphogenesis Section. Awarded CSIR Research Associateship (Direct.) In 1989. Received Prize for securing First Position in the University in German Certificate and Diploma course. Research Associate in DBT sponsored project 1990. Scientist (PI) in DST project from 1990-92. Y.S. Murthy Gold Medal - 2001 for Research Contribution, in Tissue Culture & Plt. Path. From Indian Botanical Scociety. Nominated Fellow of Botanical Society F.B.S. - 2001. Best Poster Presentation Awards 2007 in All India Science Congress, Annamallainagar. (Tamil Nadu) Assistant Co-Ordinator, University Innovation Cluster in Biotechnology from 2014 till date. Elected member of council of Indian Science Congress Association-2016. She is a member of council of Indian Science Congress association and Rajasthan Science Congress Association.
