Biography

The dissertation of sixty thousand words, also entailed a practical component also which illustrated the design parameters (especially Typography) facilitating optimal knowledge transfer in all forms of communication. She aims to finish her Ph.D., specializing in the design principles of Neuro-marketing, which involves the disciplines of Neuro-Anatomy, Neurophysiology and Neuropsychology. Before wishing to further her professional career by associating herself with an Academic Institution like the Royal University for Women, which provides the environment to stimulate and further develop her skills, her teaching experience is more than thirty one years in Graphic Design as Associate Professor at one University, lecturer at three Universities and two private Colleges in gaining teaching experience in medial illustration- and packaging, branding, basics of perspective drawings, design studio, typography in Interior Design and moderating. She has more than eight plus years industry experience as a medical Illustrator/information designer at the Medical University of Southern Africa covering and wide range of Graphics. She had her own clothing business for eight years, designed own ranges of clothing and also worked at an important Interior Design company capturing projects in Graphic posters and manuals. Even though she is academically qualified in Graphic Design, she would not let the opportunity go by to be involved in event organising, management and coordinating, planning exhibitions and conferences.

Research Intrest

Ms Verdian Coetzee started with a very thorough training in graphic design with the emphasis on graphic design skills, finished an Honours degree - theoretical section, “Capita Selecta" with emphasis on Advertising, “Visual Presentation of Numerical Data”. She also obtained a Masters Degree – MFA, in Graphic Design with original work, illustrating that Typography constitutes the main stay of the design process.
