He holds a BS in Biochemical Pharmacy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1979), a PhD in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1988) and a PhD in Nuclear Technology from the University of São Paulo (1993). He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hospital de Bellvitge, Barcelona, ​​Spain, during 2001. He is currently a Full Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at UFMG. He develops research works in the area of ​​Radioisotopes, with emphasis on Radiopharmacy and Nuclear Medicine.
