Prof Uju Umo is a professor of Language Education. Her research interests include Skills for effective public speech, Use of games in Teaching and Learning indigenous Language and Issues in Language Education. She teaches Language Education to both the Undergraduate and Post Graduate students. She is also a supervisor of both Masters and Doctorate Students. She has served in various positions as Hall Warden, Examination Officer, Chairman Board of Governors University of Nigeria Secondary School and was Head of Department from 2009 - 2013. She has published papers in both National and International Journals of standard repute. She is a recipient of many awards which include; Best H.O.D. of the year by Education Students association (ESA) 2011; Best Examination Officer by Faculty of Education Board 2004-2008; ESTAC Creative Excellence Award for Advancing the Economy through Academics; Most enterprising and industrious Board chairman by University of Nigeria secondary school on December, 2011. Currently, Dean of the Faculty from 2014 till date. She is happily married with 3 children and two grand children.
