Biography

A graduate of Roncalli High School in Omaha, Tom received two B.S. degrees from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (Physics and Interdisciplinary Studies in Geology) in 1980. He studied at Washington University in St. Louis earning a Master’s degree in Planetary Science in 1982. In 1985 he earned a second Master’s (Physics) from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Northwestern University in 1993. He has worked for the DoD as a geodesist (DMAAC, St. Louis), ARCO Oil and Gas Company as a well log analyst, a physics lecturer at St. Xavier University, and the Missouri University Science and Technology, and an assistant/associate professor of physics at Pittsburg State University. He joined the USGS and CEGIS in 2009.
