Biography

Theopisti Stylianou-Lambert is an assistant professor in the Multimedia and Graphic Arts Department of the Cyprus University of Technology and the coordinator of the Visual Sociology and Museum Studies lab. She earned her PhD in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester (UK). She holds a Master’s in Art Education from the Department of Visual Arts Studies at the University of Texas at Austin (USA) as well as a Master’s in Advertising from the College of Communications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). She received several awards and scholarships such as a Fellowship in Museum Studies from the Smithsonian Institute (USA), an Arts and Humanities Research Council Award (UK), an A. G. Leventis Foundation Scholarship (France), a Kelly Fearing Endowed Scholarship in Art Education and Studio Art (USA), a M. K. Hage Endowed Scholarship in Fine Arts (USA) and a Fulbright Scholarship (USA).

Research Intrest

Photography, visual sociology, museum studies, visitor studies, art museums and issues of cultural consumption.
