Biography

Tasos Georgiadis is Associate Professor and President of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering of the Cyprus University of Technology. In the past (2002-2007), he has worked as an Assistant and then Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dalhousie University in Halifax, capital of New Scotland, Canada. He has degree in Mechanical Engineering from Acadia University and Technical University of Nova Scotia and graduate (MA S c.) And a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dalhousie, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Research Intrest

His research activities focus on (a) Micro-mechanical standardization, analysis and design of periodic composite and intelligent composite materials and structures, (b)(d) dynamic modeling of two-dimensional and three-dimensional magnetoelectric structures and the calculation of product properties; (e) integration of fiber optic sensors into fiber composite composites for the purpose of monitoring the structure of the nanomodels; (g) synthesis, processing, testing and characterization of advanced composite materials, (h) computational analysis (finite elements) of intelligent concrete beams as well as composite structures.
