Taiwo Amoo is an associate professor of business statistics and operations management. His doctoral thesis was based on the application of operations research techniques to the distribution of fertilizer in Nigeria. Professor Amoo has won several awards and grants, including a PSC-CUNY grant, University of Exeter Scholar award, Overseas Research Student award, and Best Statistics Student award at the University of Ibadan. In May 2001, Amoo was honored by the Brooklyn College Student Life Office for his work with students. He was the faculty adviser for the West African Students Association from 2001 to 2004 and is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute.
Professor Amoo's research interests focus on the construction, validity and evaluation of rating scales in surveys; developing mathematical models for decision making in business; and how best to use statistics for the interpretation and analysis of data. He is an expert in demonstrating how quantitative techniques can be used in business decision making. Amoo is currently on sabbatical and working on health care promotional strategies in developing countries.
