"Since July 2016, Sue Mattison has served as Provost at Drake University. Living most of her life in Iowa, she came to Drake most recently from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where she was Dean of the College of Professional Studies, including the Cofrin School of Business. Dr. Mattison received her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Northern Iowa, and her master’s degree in Cardiac Rehabilitation, also from UNI. She received her PhD in epidemiology from The University of Iowa, and completed the Management and Leadership in Education Institute at Harvard University. Her research focus is in breast and bladder cancer epidemiology, and she has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on topics including examining racial differences in breast cancer treatment, survival, risk factors, and molecular markers; and the economic aspects of cancer treatment. She served as Associate Dean and Interim Dean of the Graduate College at the University of Northern Iowa, and in several other leadership and administrative roles prior to her current position as Dean. "
