Biography

Professor Brown has established an outstanding internationally-recognised research program in maternal and perinatal epidemiology and health services research at Murdoch Childrens. Her research on maternal health has been pivotal in drawing international attention to the extent and impact of common maternal physical and mental health problems after childbirth and health consequences of intimate partner violence. She has been highly successful in establishing partnerships to support her group's collaborative programs in Aboriginal maternal and child health, and refugee and migrant health. Professor Brown's research combines high standards of scientific rigour with a strong commitment to integration of community and policy knowledge in the development of research questions, and design and conduct of research through to dissemination and knowledge translation.
