Research Intrest

His research activity has focused on the theory of low-dimensional systems, in particular the structural, electronic and optical properties of metal and semiconductor surface and interfaces. In recent years the central topic of his research has been the investigation of the structural, electronic and optical properties of nanostructures. This work has been done in close collaboration with leading experimental and theoretical groups in the field within a large number of national and international research projects. He is actually leading the research group on low-dimensional systems and nanostructures (>10 members, www.nanomodelling.unimore.it) .
