S.R. Kannan obtained Ph.D. from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. He currently holds as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, School of Ramanujan School of Mathematical Sciences at Pondicherry University. He has received Best Paper Award for the research paper titled “Effective fuzzy possibility c-means: an analyzing cancer medical database” from “The 2015 ASE International Conference on Big Data”, October 7-9, 2015, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.Received Fellowship (JRF/SRF) through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 1997; Awarded an appreciation certificate in recognition of my service offered to the Cauvery hostel, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, as Mess Secretary during the year 1999; Received the “ISCA Best Paper Presentation Award¨ at the 88th Indian Science Congress Association held at New Delhi; Awarded a grant in the framework of a joint agreement between the Direzione Generale per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ICTP Programme for Training and Research in Italian Laboratories, 2003 – 2004; Awarded research grant by Director General, National Agriculture Research Center, Tsukuba, Japan, for joint research work on remote sensing data to estimate rice (02/06-03/06).
