Biography

Sidhartha Hazari is an Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences at California Northstate University College of Pharmacy (CNUCOP). He received his PhD from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Department of Pathology, New Delhi, India. After receiving his doctoral degree, Dr Hazari worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Tulane University School of Medicine, USA where he extensively studied the interferon mechanism and resistance on hepatis C virus (HCV) related liver cancer. He got the Infetious Disease Beginning Scientist award in 2010. Then he moved to University of Kansas Medical center and worked as Senior Scientist at the liver center. In 2012, he came to University of California Medical center and joined as a Project Scientist (Research Faculty series) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine. His current research focus is to study drug targeting and Nanotherapeutics to target different cancer types and infectious disease using different model systems. Along with other researchers in the department he developed the extracellular vesicle (exosome) research using advanced cellular and biochemical techniques. He is also actively involved in mentoring undergraduate, graduate, masters and medical students, residents and visiting scholars.
