Biography

Accomplished doctoral and postgraduate degree in Textiles and Clothing from the University of Delhi and an additional graduate and postgraduate degree in education. Courses are also done in illustration and computer aided designing from one of the reputed institutes from Delhi. Ph. D was on flat floor coverings of Rajasthan (State in India) – its contemporary perspectives. Based on her work, she has presented papers at national and international conferences. Also developed design software for the same industry, introducing CAD/CAM in this field.  

Research Intrest

Before joining RUW, she had teaching experience of fourteen years, in the field of textile/fashion design, apparel and education at prestigious colleges of University of Delhi. During these years she also gained experience of working as a research associate in projects associated with Design Development and Information Technology. She was a member of the core curriculum committees at NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) and CBSE (Central board of Secondary Education) developing learning material for the vocational courses in Textiles and in adapting and adopting curriculum changes in the field of textiles and clothing. She was actively involved in organizing workshops, seminars and fashion shows. Working as guest lecturer and as an examiner and paper setter with various colleges and institutions and exposure to the electronic media – presenting shows in field of textiles and apparel, gave an amazing experience and further strengthened her professional skills.
