Biography

Shiann-Shiun Jeng was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on October 18, 1960. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in telecommunication engineering in 1983 and 1985, respectively, from National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Univer-sity of Texas at Austin, in 1997. From 1985 to 1992, he was an Assistant Researcher in the Tele-communication Laboratories, Ministry of Transportations and Communications, Taiwan. In August 1997, he joined the faculty of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Chung Yuan University, Chungli, Taiwan. He was an Assistant Professor from 2000 to 2004 and now is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan. His research interests include channel propagation study, communications circuit design, wireless communications, and smart antenna systems.
