Biography

Argyro Sgourou, is an Assistant Professor on "Cell structure and function" at the Hellenic Open University (HOU) and a tutor on the Undergraduate programme "Physical Sciences", since April 2016. She holds a PhD in "Molecular Biology and Genetics" obtained from Medical School (2001), University of Patras, under the funding of the "States Scholarship Foundation" of Greece. She has acquired the know-how of molecular biology emerging techniques during 2 EMBO research fellowships to the Laboratory of Gene Structure and Expression National Institute for Medical Research, UK and the Dept. of Medical and Molecular Genetics, King's College, London and her postdoctoral studies (2003-5) on Gene Therapy Biotechnology issues at the Dept. of Medical and Molecular Genetics, King's College, London, funded by a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship.
