Biography

Sergio Crovella currently the titular professor of the Genetics Department of the Federal University of Pernambuco. He has experience in Molecular Biology and Genetics, working mainly on the following topics: molecular evolution, innate immunity, genetic factors involved in susceptibility to HIV infection in children, vertical transmission of HIV, multifactorial diseases, Genetic factors involved in recurrent infections in children, antimicrobial peptides, production of synthetic defensins.
