Biography

Safia Ahmed obtained Ph.D. from Biotechnology, University of London, UK. She currently holds as an Professor in Department of Microbiology, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Her research of interest includes Microbial transformation of aromatic compounds,Biodegradation studies for textile dyes, plastics, pesticides and crude oil,Lab scale and field bioremediation studies, Production and Characterization of bacterial metabolites, antibiotics, anticancerous compounds, bacterocin and enzymes, Genetic analysis of microbes involved in biodegradation of pollutants and antibiotic resistant bacteria, Water and waste water treatment.
