Saeb EL-Sukhon is the professor of microbiology and infectious diseases at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Jordan University of Science & Technology. He has been engaged in the academic responsibilities since 1976. Over these long years, he was involved in different academic tasks in in Iraqi and Jordanian universities. Before that, he spent about two years in Kuwait where he established a Vet. Diag. Lab. Professor EL-Sukhon holds the BVSc. degree from Cairo Uni., Egypt (1971) and the Ph.D. degree from the Tieraerztliche Hochschule, Hannover, Germany (1974). He published several articles in reputed peer-reviewed and specialized journals in the fields of microbiology/infectious diseases and relevant disciplines. Besides, he supervised several MSc. students and participated in many regional/international conferences and meetings, including the activities of the ad hoc group for veterinary education of the OiE. His research interests lie mainly in bacterial virulence and antibiotics. He carried out academic and administrative responsibilities either as a Head Dept. (1988-2004) and/or as the dean of the Fac. Vet. Med., Jordan (2006-2009), through which he was able to prepare that faculty to obtain the membership of the European Association of Establishment of Veterinary Education (EAEVE). In his spare time, EL-Sukhon can be found playing and listening music, practicing some sport activities.
His research interests include Bacteriology, Animal Welfare, Medical Microbiology and Veterinary Mycology.
