Biography

Dr. Robert Young is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University in the Bronx, New York. He undertook his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia, before entering the then new field of Emergency Medicine. Dr Young was an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Kentucky in Lexington for 18 years. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), and a founding member of several of the Colleges’ Chapters. Robert Young has been living and working in Moscow for almost 15 years and is a very active member of the expatriate community here. Before joining the GMS Clinic (and again rejoining old colleagues and friends), Dr. Young’s last commitment was with the Intermedcenter Clinic. In the distant past he has also been part of the medical staff at the European Medical Center, where he was in charge of setting up treatment processes both in Moscow and in Yerevan, Armenia. He was also the Corporate Medical Director for the American Medical Centers in the late 90’s. Arguably, perhaps, Dr Robert Young is the best-known American doctor in Moscow. His philosophy of medical care is simple, as he says — «My allegiance is to my patients — always. My patients trust me to provide for them the best, safest care I know how to provide. That is why I am now here, a part of the Global Medical Services Clinic team. I am excited about working together with them. Continual improvement is our joint goal, and I will help wherever I can.
