Biography

Rhonda is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy and is also serving as Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from West Virginia University and Wheeling Jesuit College in 1993 and earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Shenandoah University in 2010. She is a Geriatric Certified Specialist through the APTA. Rhonda is a certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification. In addition, she has completed the American Physical Therapy Association's Basic and Advanced Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Programs. Rhonda served for two years as an adjunct faculty member in Wheeling Jesuit University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program before assuming her full time position in January 2012. She teaches Physical Therapy Skills, Clinical Education Stream, and has been a tutor for Clinical Science courses. In addition, Rhonda serves as a faculty member for Service Learning and Research Training Seminar. Her most recent clinical experience was in the capacity of Coordinator of Physical Therapy Services for the Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center at Wheeling Hospital from 1998-2011. She has remained a Staff Physical Therapist at Wheeling Hospital since beginning her full time duties at Wheeling Jesuit University. . Rhonda is licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the states of West Virginia and Ohio and is an active member of the West Virginia Physical Therapy Association. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, West Virginia Chapter, and belongs to the Education, Geriatric, and Health Policy & Administration sections. Rhonda was a presenter of a concurrent session at the APTA Combined Sections National Conference January 2013 San Diego, CA titled Problem-Based Strategies in Physical Therapy Curricula and Clinical Practice.
