A native of Brazil, Dr. Renato Roperto received his DDS in 2000 from the University of Ribeirao Preto School of Dentistry, where he served as Assistant Professor from 2001 to 2007. He earned his MSc in 2003 from University of Sao Paulo (FORP-USP) and his PhD in 2007 from State University of Sao Paulo (FOAR-UNESP). From 2008-2012, Dr. Roperto was Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator of the Operative Dentistry Division at Faculty of Dentistry, University of Manitoba (Canada). In addition, he had one-year training as a Research Associate at the University of Toronto (2006-2007). Dr. Roperto currently serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals in his field. Devoted to dental clinical research and education for more than 13 years, his current focus is on ceramics, adhesion and CAD/CAM. During the course of his career, Dr. Roperto has received many teaching and research awards; published a number of peer-reviewed papers, abstracts, and book chapters; and has been invited to lecture at numerous national and international academic and scientific occasions. He is currently the course director in two disciplines: Operative Dentistry (2nd year DMD students) and the CAD/CAM program. Dr. Roperto is also mentoring international students with Master and PhD levels with research areas in Raman, CAD/CAM and Lasers in Dentistry
