Biography

Regina Maria De Marco Turchetti Maia holds a degree in Natural History (Biological Sciences) in the modalities Bachelor and Licenciatura and Master in Cell Biochemistry by the Federal University of Minas Gerais. She worked as a CNPq research fellow in the Natural Products Laboratory of the Department of Pharmacology of the Institute of Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Minas Gerais from 1983-1987 and as substitute professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology of the same institution in the period 1988-1989 . He joined PhD in the Department of Pharmacology of the ICB-UFMG in 1990. He is dedicated to teaching Pharmacology in different disciplines of UFMG undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is active in research in the areas of Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Teaching. Has experience in Academic Administration.

Research Intrest

Pharmacology of Natural Products, Pharmacology of the Second Messengers, Cytotoxicity in biomaterials, Drug induced motor coordination, Pharmacology of Inflammation and Pain.
