Biography

Graduated in Pharmacy-Biochemistry by the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Master (2002) and Doctor (2005) in Microbiology with emphasis in Medical Mycology at the Biological Sciences Institute of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Postdoctoral studies at the Biomedical Sciences Laboratory of Michigan State University (2006-2008). Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University in the Department of Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics (BLD), and Faculty of Medical School Departament of Dermatology and former Full Professor at Newton Paiva University Center. She is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Clinical and Toxicological Analysis at the Faculty of Pharmacy at UFMG and research associate at Michigan State University; Instituto Lauro de Souza Lima, Bauru - sp; Professor of medical graduation and also a guest professor at the Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Minas Gerais. Professor of the Specialization Course in Ophthalmology of the Ophtalmological Center of Minas Gerais and member of the clinical body of the Hospital of the Whale in Belo Horizonte. Collaborates and develops research activities in the areas of: medical mycology (Jorge Lobo's disease), clinical ocular microbiology (pythiosis and rhinosporidiosis) and leprosy. It also carries out research in the area of ​​epidemiology and prevalence of mycobacteria resistant to new antibiotics. Director of the Summer Course entitled "Diagnosis of infectious and non-infectious diseases using Molecular Techniques". Graduated in Medicine (2012) from Vale do Rio Verde University. Director and founder of the Higher Institute of Medicine (ISMD) in partnership with the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Minas Gerais. Member of the Women's Academy of Letters.
