Rafael Radi, MD, Ph.D. graduated from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay, in 1988 and 1991 and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA from 1989 to 1992, where he worked with Bruce A. Freeman and Joe S. Beckman. Radi is a tenured faculty at the Department of Biochemistry, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de la República where currently holds the position of Full Professor and Chairman; he is also Director of the Center for Free Radical and Biomedical Research. He holds appointments as Honorary Professor of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Adjunct Professor of the Universities of Alabama at Birmingham, Pittsburgh and Vanderbilt University (USA).
