Professor R. Provencher pursued his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from University of California-Davis in 1984 and his M.S., Environmental Studies from School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Duke University in 1985 He further studied B.S., Natural Resources from Cornell University, 1981.At present he is working as a Professor in department of Agriculture and applied economics, University of Wisconsin-He is a Environmental and resource economist, with particular emphasis on the evaluation of residential energy use, and the role of policies and programs on energy demand. He is also interested in the valuation of ecosystem services, socio-ecological interactions, and the dynamic allocation of resources. Professor R. Provencher also serve as the faculty advisor for the Resource and Energy Demand Analysis program.
