Biography

Dr. Rukiye Didem Taylan received a Fulbright scholarship to complete her M.S. degree in mathematics education from Teachers’ College, Columbia University. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Missouri, in 2013. During 2014-2015, she taught 5th grade mathematics at a public school in İstanbul and she developed lesson plans by collaborating with mathematics teachers at a private school. She conducts research in the field of teacher learning and noticing as well as classroom practices. She serves as a co-leader at the "Congress of European Research in Mathematics Education" for the working group: "Mathematics Teacher and Classroom Practices", as of 2016.
