Pincas Bitterman, MD, graduated from the University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He then continued his education at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez in Mexico where he obtained his medical degree in 1982. After working as a research assistant at the blood bank at Emory University in Atlanta, he began training in anatomic and clinical pathology at St. Raphaels Hospital/Yale University integrated program in 1983. In 1984, he was appointed chief resident. His residency continued at Georgetown University Medical Center where he graduated in 1987. This was followed by a two-year fellowship in gynecologic pathology at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. After his return to Georgetown for a fellowship in surgical pathology, he was promoted to instructor. In 1993, he was recruited to Rush University Medical Center as an assistant professor with his primary appointment in pathology and a secondary appointment in the obstetrics and gynecology. Currently, he is professor of pathology and obstetrics and gynecology, and director of gynecologic pathology.
Research interest includes gynaecologic pathology and obstetrics.
