Biography

Pierre Girard currently working as Professor of the Institute of Biocencias of the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), where he teaches hydroecology at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He also teaches, at the same university, "Great ecological issues" in the master's degree in Agro-environmental Law and "Climate change and water cycle" in the Masters of Water Resources. He teaches sporadically in the postgraduate course in Environment of the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). His current research interests focus on hydroelectric impacts on river systems and governance of the impacts of climate change using social network analysis. He also served as a consultant for the Government of Mato Grosso and the State Public Ministry on issues related to the use and use of water resources.
