Biography

Professor Pentti Tengvall started in 1986 his PhD-training in applied physics with professor Ingemar Lundström at Linköping university (LiTH) as the supervisor. After PhD in applied physics in 1989, he was employed as assistant professor at IFM, LiTH, he received a position as lecturer in biomaterials in 1994 and was promoted to full professor at LiTH in year 2000. He was awarded International Fellow of Biomaterials Science and Engineering (FBSE) in 2008. In 2008, he was recruited as Director of BIOSUM research school in Biomaterials and Cell Therapy at University of Gothenburg. Dr Tengvall has published 132 articles, many conference contributions and invited to many lectures and holds 5 patents/patent applications. He has supervised 15 PhD students.

Research Intrest

Proteins at interfaces, interface modifications, and local drug delivery in bone implant applications.
