Biography

Petra de Jongh has been appointed Chair Inorganic Nanomaterials in 2014. She joined Utrecht University in 2004, after having worked for five years at Philips Research as (senior) research scientist and project leader. In 2013 she was visiting professor at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris. Petra received an NWO-Vidi grant in 2006, played an important role in the ACTS Sustainable Hydrogen Program from 2006-2013, and received an NWO-Vici grant in 2013. Her research focuses on the one hand, in close collaboration with industry, on more efficient and durable catalysts. On the other hand, financed by NWO, EU, and US DOE, she investigates the design, preparation and understanding of novel catalytic and other 3D nanostructured materials.
