He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1992), a Master's degree in Biosciences (Zoology) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (1996) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho 2003). Young FAPESP Research Fellow at the Zoology Museum of USP (2006-2008), where he completed his postdoctoral degree in Zoology; Professor of Master's Degree in Biotechnology Postgraduate Course, emphasis in Molecular Phylogeny at the University of Mogi das Cruzes. Adjunct Professor IV of the Zoology Department of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Adviser of Masters and Doctorate in the Graduate Programs in Zoology and Ecology, Conservation and Wildlife Management of UFMG. He is currently the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Zoology at UFMG. He is part of the advisory board - amphibian thematic group of the Center for the Conservation and Management of Reptiles and Amphibians (RAN / IBAMA). Has experience in the area of ​​Zoology, with emphasis on Biology, Taxonomy and Systematics of Amphibians and inventory of fauna.
