Paulo Cesar Venere graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos in 1986. He recently graduated as a Biologist at the Tucuruí Reservoir (Pará, Brazil), where he worked on collecting data on commercial fishing along with local fishermen's colonies. He completed his master's degree in Ecology and Natural Resources from the Federal University of São Carlos, completed in 1991. He started his teaching career in higher education this year at the Araguaia University Campus. In 1995 he began his PhD in Genetics and Evolution by the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), which was completed in 1998. He was director of the Middle Araguaia Institute of Sciences and Letters (currently the Araguaia University Campus, an advanced campus of the Federal University of Mato Thick. He was coordinator of the degree courses in Natural Sciences and the course of Biological Sciences of UFMT / CUA. He completed his postdoctoral training at the Dept. of Morphology of UNESP of Botucatu, SP. He transferred to the UFMT's headquarters campus in 2014 and is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso, in the Department of Biology and Zoology of the Institute of Biosciences.
